Not too late for Earth Day

26 Apr

April 22 — The world celebrated Earth Day through various charitable programs solely intended to care for nature. As I browsed for the latest activities here in the Philippines related to this, I came across various sites that may be useful for the other bloggers who feel like going environment-friendly virtually.

Rock Ed (www.rockedphilippines.org)

a volunteer group program that promotes alternative education through various means (teaching, poetry, visual arts, performing arts, music, print ads, photography, etc.)

Duly inspired by their advocacy, I really feel that to function better as citizens of our countries, we, as individuals, have the responsibility to be advocates of our own fields. As writers, for instance, we can promote a certain cry for the environment, etc. We can lift the hearts of those who love to read by the wondrous ideas we have. Somehow, in our little ways, we serve as a bridge towards a goal that’s never hard to accomplish — if only we have the desire, patience, and determination to succeed.
